Getting excited for the draft. Really starting to get my hopes up that the Chiefs will take Mahomes. That is followed by pre-disappointment of knowing the Chiefs will not draft a QB in round 1.
Being pretty well set with starters is nice. If available within 5 picks or so of the Chiefs pick, I hope we make the necessary moves to get Mahomes. He isn't ready yet but his upside is about as high as it gets. I like Watson some too. Would like the first 3 rounds to include some combination of QB, ILB, RB, and CB. Maybe some DL help too as losing Poe and Howard is tough.
Watching dreams come true, the stories, K-state qatz, etc. Also, the trades and intensity of if "your guy" is still hanging around.
I get the appeal. I don't get liking it more than the first day of the NCAA tourney, CFB playoff, NFL Conference Championship Sunday, World Series, etc. I mean, if there were a Royals game tonight I'd watch the Royals and flip to the draft at commercials.
I enjoy the draft quite a bit but it doesn't have the "any moment something amazing could happen" appeal of a sporting event. A team makes a pick and nothing will happen for the next 10 minutes. I would watch it over some midseason NFL game or a Royals game at this point in the season, but the other events your mentioned are far better.
