i was so happy when they cleaned house. pioli was gone. cassel was gone. crennel was gone. they had a clean slate. they had an opportunity to start over fresh, to build, a team, an identity.. they had a chance..

they hired a retread, just fired coach who has consistently repeated severe flaws (time management, end of game strategy, undervaluing the running game) and never shown any signs of learning and changing. they went and gave up 2nd rounders again. for another san francisco quarterback again. who was closer to 30 than 25 again. who is a marginally better than average qb again.

the chiefs and royals are bound and determined to try and prove everyone else wrong. they try to win in the opposite of the most proven ways.

you win super bowls with great qb's? really? yeah, well watch this.

you win baseball games by getting on base and hitting for power and scoring runs? oh yeah? well watch this.

i'm tired.

The Royals just have a defeatist attitude where they think they don't have the budget to ever legitimately compete and aren't interested in learning how other small market clubs have put together good teams.

The Chiefs just absolutely refuse to take a gamble on anything. Most QBs drafted in the first round aren't very good, so why try?

Both of the attitudes are pathetic. I honestly think the Royals are closer to being a good team than the Chiefs are, though. They just need to get a competent GM and make some smart decisions this trade deadline and offseason. The Chiefs just cleaned house and nothing has changed.

Keep your loser posting in the royals thread. This team makes post season play.

i'll remember this post.

btw wacky, riddle me this. who is going to block for the chiefs after they let 60 percent of their starting o-line walk in free agency. who is going to play in the defensive backfield? and do it competently? who is going to run routes and get open and wish alex had thrown them the ball instead of dumping it to jamaal? who is going to throw the ball to anyone not named jamaal?

after you've answered those questions. then go look at the schedule again.

they went 0-4 against denver and san diego last year. denver and san diego both improved, and the chiefs got worse. then see that they also have to play seattle, san fran and new england. not to mention arizona and pittsburgh. aside from the raiders, there isn't a single team that the chiefs are obviously better than. my 6-10 predicto is being generous.

It's easier to build a solid playoff team in the NFL, anyway.

I bet they go 8-8.

wrong again.

I do tend to be optimistic. I fully expect Cat hoops to win the Big 12 this year.

Honestly it wouldn't be that hard to convince me the Royals try harder than the Chiefs. Their payroll keeps going up, and they invest in the draft and in Latin America. The Chiefs never REALLY go for it (by go for it I mean try and build a Super Bowl winner, not a wild card team) and they have an easier path because the NFL is built for more parody and for small market teams winning.

The Royals try, they have no idea what the eff they're doing. They are dumbasses top to bottom.

the chiefs are a parody of a good team, despite the parity in the NFL

They just had Romeo Crennel as their coach like a year and a half ago. That didn't exactly ooze self respect and pride. Hard to see the Steelers or Packers doing something that dumb. He was the least qualified coach/manager in KC history, and I'm including Trey Hillman in that.

Wacky I'm aware of the Royals suckage. I don't defend it. They suck. When they give us even a little peep show I'm all in, and it always fails. But I don't defend their awfulness. I wanted Ned fired the day after he was hired, and Dayton's time is obviously up. I hate the owner and want him to sell.

The difference is you defend every bullshit move the Chiefs make and seem to be ok with their suckage. Its perplexing honestly. The Chiefs have a real shot at a Super Bowl because the NFL is built for anyone to succeed. The Royals would have to be A's level smart and we know they never will with this regime. The Cardinals, Raiders, Bucs, Packers, Steelers, Rams, Titans, and Colts are similar sized markets (Phoenix is huge but its a weird market/fanbase) that have made super bowls and we can't even win a playoff game. If those teams can play in a Super Bowl, it is perfectly reasonable to expect the Chiefs to as well. Hell, I'd take a wild card win.

I don't defend them. I just think they're getting unfair treatment since they haven't even played a game this year. I'm more than pissed that we've done nothing at the wide receiver position. I mean, good grief, Alex Smith was our second leading rusher last year cause the liine can't hold a block and there's no one to throw it to. I had fun last year and I'm not going to start bitching before teh season starts cause "Alex Smith is our qb and he's not a top 10 QB."  :jerk:

The Royals could hire Kat Kid today and be a WS contender next year. The Chiefs can't do that.
