I am a pretty savvy fantasy football player, and in that regard Alex Smith is a pile of god damn dog crap, FWIW.

pass. that's a huge cap hit for the 7 games he'd actually suit up for

And Alex wouldn't be able to get him the ball beyond 5 yards from the LOS

also, here are some thoughts from the best damn football mind to ever grace this thread (that would be me p.s. unless _FAN hangs out here, then disregard)

andre johnson - don't want. he'll pull a hammy or a quad or sprain an ank or a big toe or a little toe or get a headache or vertigo or something else that makes him miss about 10-12 games next year, he'll hobble through 3 others and play maybe 2 or 3 at full health. he'll catch a maximum of like 4 touchdowns because he's never caught touchdowns his entire career.

alex will still throw it to jamaal and knile and dex 2.0 about 3 billion times even if we do bring in 'dre. if you want proof go re-watch the pro bowl when alex didn't throw it to josh gordon and alshon jeffrey and jimmy graham and all the other huge megasuperstuds at his disposal. he still dumped to the backs even then.

wacky is choosing to be a dumb deaf and blind dumbass about his dickless wonderboy quarterback crush alex. he sucks. always has. always will.

i love the chiefs but my goodness if wacky isn't making me almost wish they'd completely tank to insure that i never ever ever have to hear about alex smith ever again.

Alex Smith is not a great QB, probably average-slightly above but he doesn't suck.  He's too cautious, has a weak arm, but is smart and accurate for the most part.  It's also true he was shitty for a long time, but he's not shitty anymore.  Andre Johnson is still an extremely good receiver and hasn't had an injury in 3 years, so not sure what that was about j-dub unless you're talking about trading for him which won't happen anyway.

There is also no way we should pay him anywhere near what he is proposing and we shouldn't keep him for more than another year or two at most.

not great? then garbage.

great = not garbage. not great = garbage.

Hey j-dub, Alex is by far the best this team has for 2014, so I guess you had better either get behind him or sit this season out.

If by best you mean winning 8 meaningless games and getting a crappy draft pick and go another year without drafting a franchise QB, then yes he is the best option.

Yeah. There were much better options a couple of months ago, but not now. Go Chiefs. Go Alex. Let's steal that 9th game!

cf3 and i have differing opinions about football and/or the chiefs all the time. i have heavily influenced his opinion about qb's tho. i'll give ya that.

as for other logical opinions? i'll listen to them every time. so let's see fan man, what have you offered up for us, that is, ya know.. logical.

you want to trade our 25 year old stud pass rusher who has had double digit sacks the past 2 seasons. who is entering his prime. in a defensive scheme and a league that are built upon getting pressure on the qb. for a 33 year old rather injury-prone wr. who, when not injured was amazing in his prime (except for never catching TD's), but is now entering the declining years of his career (only averaged 12 yds per reception last season) did i get that right?

you want to trade a 25 year old superstar at what is probably, excluding qb, the most valuable position on the field for a 33 year old once amazing but fading player who plays one of the least valuable positions on the field? am i getting this?

^ this is logical?

i swear to... go take philosophy 100 again and start over.

I didn't read that. I stated earlier that I didn't want to trade Houston. I do want Andre Johnson tho. He's a dreamy rough ridin' WR. It will never happen tho.

you stated the exact opposite bud, but i'm not gonna quibble. if you bring in andre johnson you're paying for who he was. not who he is.

the objective should be to find the next andre johnson. actually the objective should be to find the next great quarterback but this is kc and we don't do that.

the most pressing issues in kc are as follows: 1. find one of the next great qb's. and then, ya know, DRAFT HIM. 2. sign justin houston to a long term deal. 3. cut bowe and his bloated contract asap, and i hate to say it but tamba too :frown:. 4. continue acquiring cb's, pass rushers, fortify the o-line and get a couple stud te's and wr's after alex leaves town and we have a guy who will actually throw it to them. 5. cut all other bloated contracts asap.
