I mean, how many teams can say they missed on players every year? A lot of factors go into a players success. I have a feeling Rodgers might have been pretty shitty under center for us at first. I really believe Favre helped his development. Remember when the chargers took shawne merriman right before we got DJamer? Early in their careers, I thought we got the raw end of the deal and now look at where these two are at. You could play this game all day long. It's not just the Chiefs. We could be the Jets and waste a crap load of first/second round picks on shitty QB's. No thanks tho.

Also, if we're giving up on Alex Smith for next year. I rather see the Chiefs go after Kirk Cousins than waste a draft pick on an unknown. I really want Kirk.

Its not wasting a draft pick, its risking a draft pick.

Bud, Whatever it is, Kirk is better than any other prospect we could go after next year. Trust me.

So you're telling me you'd bet on Kirk Cousins over the entire field of the 2015 draft, that Cousins will be a better NFL QB than any of them?

Please please please please please make this bet a reality.

I'm saying that the chances of him being a performer immediately is more likely than anyone you could take right now out of the 2015 draft. Who do we have? Mariota/Winston? I bet Cousins puts up better numbers starting next year, in a 3 year time frame than these guys do. Mariota will play similar to Kap/wilson, but fits a system. Jameis, who knows? We know he has a good arm, but he's far from a sure thing.

Sure, but what if the Redskins are still holding Cousins hostage? Cause I gotta tell ya, I'm not totally convinced RGIII is gonna make it too much longer. He screams Vince Young.

In all honesty figuring out how we'd decide who would win the bet seems like more work than its worth. It would be like 5 years from now before we could declare a winner. But here's the bottom line fanman: Cousins will probs start some games, maybe win a few, but he's no Super Bowl QB. Therefore, I'd rather go after some young buck with upside.

Can you explain to me what a super bowl quarterback is? Cause, like, Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, Flacco, Manning, etc. are Super Bowl winning QB's. I mean P. Manning has only won one for gosh sakes.

One who could win a super bowl. Dilfer/Johnson played in a different league. The NFL rules aren't like that anymore.

Do you think E. Manning and Flacco are top 10 QB's in this league?

Didn't Flacco just win 2 seasons ago?

Let me google that for you..........

Yes he did. He then signed a giant contract, got lazy, and threw 22 INTs last year.

Can we go back to your Vince Young / RG3 comparo? Please go look at their stats and rethink that idea.

I just don't think he's going to make it. I'm not really comparing them as players. I understand how well RGIII started out his rookie year. I just think he's fragile and the NFL is going to take a toll on him. I could be wrong. I hope I am, he's fun to watch.

Most interesting about that comparison is their respective overall records... Obviously QB play doesn't really matter

Honestly tho. I'm just really bored at work today. Sorry for beating a dead horse. I just think j-dub some how brain washed cf3 to thinking you have to draft an all pro QB to win it all. I don't believe that theory. I think it's a great mix of a lot of things, but it's whatever. I think if you have an awesome defense, a top 15 qb, and great coaching staff around talent, anything is possible.

You don't have to draft an all-pro, but our pattern is trading for a backup in his late twenties over and over and over.

That's fair. I've liked some of them. Getting Trent Green was the right move. Not putting any $ into the defense was a bad move.
