Ya, I kind of have.

There have been a ton of analogies thrown around about how the whole deal makes us feel, but I like to think of Huggs as a pedophile who tried to sodomize me, but was interrupted some how and dropped his wallet in my race car bed....and the wallet had a bagillion dollar bill in it.  Afterwards, he called me and said "No hard feelings about trying to eff you in the ass....why don't you go ahead and keep the bagillion dollars, ok?"

So, obviously I am better off now, and am because of Huggs.  However, I know I can never really trust him.

Didn't Huggs try to crawl in the window to take the wallet/$ back, but when he failed, he then said you could keep it?

this game has to take place in IBA... the EMAW'mones would be off the chart! The arena would be full of students and an assload of young alumni who still want to party!

Huggins will get last laugh at roast

WVU Coach Bob Huggins will be the butt of many jokes at his celebrity roast next Friday.Advertiser
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- It's obvious that what goes down in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas.

Otherwise, after he fell last month on a table in a hotel room and fractured seven ribs, West Virginia University basketball Coach Bob Huggins wouldn't be back in his WVU Coliseum office.

"I'm sore," Huggins said, "but otherwise I'm fine."

Well, the coach will be until at least next Friday night, when some of his sideline buddies take shots at him at the Bob Huggins Celebrity Roast at the Waterfront Place Hotel. Is he - pardon the pun - expecting a real ribbing?

"Hey, I get the mic last," Huggins said.

You know he's just primed for one of these jokers saying he fell on a craps table, right? However, the night has the potential for a being a really funny way to raise funds for what's very serious business.

It's a benefit roast - the reception is at 7 p.m., dinner at 8, with roast to follow - with proceeds going to a research fund endowment at the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center at WVU. The endowment honors Huggins' late mother, Norma Mae Huggins, a Morgantown native.

The coach, then at Cincinnati, started the fund with the WVU cancer center in 2003, after his mom died following a battle with colon cancer. The Huggins Fund supports basic and clinical research at the MBR Cancer Center.

"We started up with donations (after her death) in lieu of flowers," Huggins said. "We've kind of done some little things, but nothing nearly this big."

The roasters include several of Huggins' coaching pals, led by Kentucky's John Calipari. Also scheduled are Frank Martin of Kansas State, Andy Kennedy of Ole Miss and Duquesne's Ron Everhart.

Others grilling the WVU coach are his former boss and assistant coach from Ohio days, Chuck Machock, and WVU broadcast analyst Jay Jacobs. Tony Caridi, the Mountaineers' play-by-play man, is the emcee.

Another special guest or two may join the crowd, too. Also scheduled are live and silent auctions with memorabilia and special gifts from various sports coaches. Footballs signed by Alabama's Nick Saban and Jim Tressel of Ohio State are among the items.

"A real figure (for proceeds) is a minimum of $50,000," said Will Armistead, director of development at the Randolph Cancer Center.

"And then we'll take what's raised and apply for matching state funding from the West Virginia Research Trust Fund (which doubles private gifts to support university research)."

Armistead said the Huggins event is "somewhat unique" for the Randolph center, because it's rare for an event to be held to raise money for an individual endowment fund.

hopefully he tells lots of jokes about how Huggins is such a fat drunk.

Chances this is a trick to get him to show up so they can stage a massive intervention?

Why would we play WV in Wichita? That's a MONSTER game. That would be extremely disappointing. Has to be in Manhattan or KC...anything else would be a joke. no offense Wichita.

Waiting for a response from WichitaCat764 or DodgeCityVetCat69  :ohno:

Wow.

Look, I live in KC, but if we have learned nothing from the reports from the Wichita Pak'rs, it's that those SOB are nuts.  That's EXACTLY what we want for this game.  Fire breathing Sedgwick County hooligans showering Huggs with EMAW.

LOL, Hugs is probably the one pushing Wichita because he mistakenly thinks it will be less hostile than KC.

And KC doesn't really deserve it IMO, I know we always play scrub non-cons in KC but the turnout is always poor and full of families. In Wichita they will be more drunk. Plus any true non-Wichita EMAW has no problem driving to Wichita.

i want a 3 game series w/ WSU, game in IBA, Sprint Center, and   :doom:

Guys, we've moved beyond WSU.

FHSU maybe then?

WSU>Arkansas Pine-Bluff

we already are playing @Washington State next year for the big12/pac10 challenge

KU gets UCLA, K-State gets Washington State... how fitting.

speaking of Washington State, this guy is not your typical asst coach/recruiting coordinator

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

They obviously saw what FM did and realized that math teachers make the best coaches.
