Question for KenPom advocates

This question is for all those guys that are religious about KenPom, et al, stats:

How good was digiDom, and how much does someone like McGruds  have to improve his digiBBall game to fill his shoes?  Note:  I'm looking info on a player(s) you think will play Doms minutes this season.

Please disclose in your response whether you actually watch the games, or just review KenPom before and after.   <<---- for my amusement

I'm not nerdy enough to answer your questions directly, but here are extensive stats for the two players who seem to match up best with Sutton, compared side-by-side with his stats:

These two are of similar size and defensive capabilities (at least that's how I read the stats), but are better offensively. It looks like McGruder and Samuels were better at blocks, but Sutton was better at steals, so that should be an area of improvement for Rodney and Jamar. The three had comparable defensive rebounding, but Dominique was the better offensive rebounder. I don't know about our new players, as they're not in the database, but to fill Sutton's shoes they'll have to roughly match those stats you see listed.

I'm sure a nerdier and higher BBIQ person will do a better job helping you, but at least now you know where to go for cool side-by-side comparisons.

perhaps its because kenpom has a soft spot for shitty players who are athletic?  nevermind the fact that the team who scores the most points wins; its all about having players with a higher AMUBIS(another made up but important stat)!!!!

Biggest loss with Dom is offensive rebounding and defense on long/athletic 2s/3s.  McGruder showed promise on the Oboards, we'll have to see about defense, and he's definitely a big upgrade offensively.  But Dom's shoes won't be filled by McGruder alone, IMO, someone else will have to help out.  That could be JamSam if we need length there, but after that it will be up to a couple FR in Williams/Southwell.  Not an impossible replacement.
