Depends on the issue.  If you're voting on a candidate because they want gays to marry or want women to be able to kill their unborn babies, I think that's silly.  An issue such as drastically reducing government spending or stopping the flood of illegal immigrants is a solid single-issue, since they have lasting ramifications that actually matter to the USA.
