This guy is either a genius or most likely really stupid. Just teach that monster to bark at people that knock on his door.

Out at the cat ranch and lady/Milo were going nuts under a dead log I was cutting up. A mouse finally popped out and Milo grabbed it and was playing with it for about a minute carrying it around, letting it go and grabbing it again.

Eventually Milo let it go next to a tree and BOOM, that lil mouse started climbing the tree like a bat out of hell.

Long story short my dogs tried to climb the tree but couldn't reach this lucky guy up on the top branch.

What a survivor.

This reminds me of a western comedy movie I watched some time ago.  A half dozen gunmen surrounded some guy with a revolver and some guy watching from the salon is laughing and saying the gunmen are going to fill him full of holes.  Then the guy shoots one of the gunmen and the guy in the salon says "lucky bastard".  The guy shoots the second guy and again he says "lucky bastard", well this happens four more times with the guy saying "lucky bastard".  This is what I imagine you were saying when the mouse eluded your dogs.
Hot time in Kat town tonight.

A community of bats used to live behind the shutters on our house. I thought they were cute but their guano would run down the side of the house so I sealed them out with some of that expanding foam.

Damn dog found another possum last night in our backyard. He played dead and my dog just barked around it. I ended up grapping it by the back of the neck and tossed him in the neighbors yeard that's currently vacant. Not sure what other course of action to take here. SYS?

Thats basically it although I just pick them up with a shovel.

There was a family of baby possums living under my neighbors shed this spring. Lady and Milo killed at least 2 and would bring the others into the garage...the ones that were still alive I would put in neighbors yards that dont have a dog..

 I was a bit surprised he didn't hiss at me or anything. Kept playing dead in my hands.

possums are one of the grossest mammals. My dad captured one that had been raiding the catfood in a live trap a few weeks ago when I was visiting Tinytown. We relocated it to the other side of the river in the Gator.

Seems like there was someone on this board (or maybe it was KSO) who lived in suburban KC with a dog who had an insatiable desire to kill animals who came in their yard.

how?
It flew in. Wife came and got me. I couldn’t find it anywhere. Didn’t believe her.

20 minutes later wife runs up, definitely bat. Buzzed her in the kitchen.

I go down and it’s hanging on the fireplace.

I try to grab with a towel, think I’ve got it and drop it when I try to walk to the door with it.

It does 5/6 laps around the kitchen/living room buzzing me like maverick.

I’m trying to shoo it but lose it around a corner.

Can’t find it again.

10:00 way past my bedtime. Put towels under all the doors and close everything. Go to bed.

Morning. Little guy was latched to the front door crack. Dead asleep. So I towel it and wife opened the door.

No more Bat

No way I could go to bed with a bat in the house.  That's an up til it's caught/dead situation for me.

One of my dogs got sprayed by a skunk at my in-laws in Abilene last weekend.  It wasn't a direct hit so not too bad and after 3 baths she smells almost back to normal.  Her face still smells a little bit if you get right up next to it.

Possums aren't mammals
