Passed through or was in Topeka three times in 24hrs from Friday evening to Saturday afternoon.  Drove to MHK and back Friday night to pick up some of lady BR's stuff.  Stopped at Spangels  Back on Saturday afternoon for a wedding.   I am Topeka'd out.

Did you doing any Topaka'n while you were there?!

I heard that el taquito express is pretty good, and that it's real authentic Mexican food. It's at 29th and fairlawn in that little shack that golden dynasty used to be in. Can anyone confirm/deny?

confirmed, Racquetluke.

Not quite as good as Tacos El Mex, but close enough it's worth saving the drive across town most of the time.  Just had it last night for dinner.

I thought they wanted to be able to sell liquor and wine at their locations?

Maybe.  Dudes I know who own liquor stores don't think so.   I'm not sure if I want it or not.

Some updates:
Boston Market is becoming a Noodles and company

Mr. Stirfry is closing due to numerous health code violations and is being bought by a wichitian that runs a Chinese buffet in Wichita, and he will re-open it as a Chinese buffet (with a new name)

pepe and chelas got bought by some people from California that are some how connected to the family that owned it before, and it will remain the same crappy Mexican food

the jimmy john's on 21st and gage is open, has anyone been? Is it good? TIA?

21st street from Wanamaker to Urish is open  :Woohoo:

I wish they weren't going into the mall, not mad that they're coming, just sad they couldn't find a better location.

I also saw a sign for an Indian restaurant called monsoon that is on the south side of the same building Chipotle is in :excited:
Topeka is really booming you guys! What's next ? TGIFridays? Joe's crab shack?

Five Guys is worth getting worked up about.

When employed by a Manhattan/Topeka car dealership which shall remain nameless (Briggs?) we would go three days a week to Topeka. They had many, many dents in their bulletproof glass in the show room. When taking a test drive with a prospective customer, you had to check in with three people and take a manager along with you.

Long story short, we would hear 2-5 gun shots a day when out working the lot. Can't wait to retire there! :excited:

Ooh, nice outfit. What is that, Dacron?

there has been a lot of smoke about JCS and the Rib Crib spot, but no fire.

I don't see Monsoon Indian making it.    Absolutely TERRIBLE location, and no parking.   Not sure if it's Globe related or not.   She had told us she was going to move to Wanamaker, and a name change would probably be good for her.
