I need to find the video. I have a 30-year veteran official reviewing it for us.
I know from my coaching days before there is a back court violation the player and the ball have to be established in front court.
The classic scenario is a player dribbling steps one foot in front court while the ball and his other foot are still in back court. Then, fans and some coaches lose their crap when his front court foot comes back to back court. It's not over and back because both feet and the ball never got establish in front court.
I am reading a ball played in from out of bounds has no front or back court status, but I can't find what makes the ball status change.
Last night the ball was thrown in by Arizona from the baseline, caught by a Cat who clearly had both feet in front court then passed to a player clearly in the back court.
