It's time we have a conversation about Bill Self

Has college basketball passed him by? Treading water in the conference, overseeling stunning collapses, misfiring in the portal and losing conference games in AFH. Is the fire still there or is he a shell of the coach that dominated the Big 12?

It's harder to win when everyone pays players, apparently.  The recent ruling that would neuter NIL payments to top players seems to make old-school recruiting tactics favored by the blue bloods more viable.

Props to him for having the SEC football bag man level thing in place for years . . . Taking it to a higher level with a mega corp vs the local Chevy dealer in Dothan

Much more genuine than Roy’s “Carolina Way” shtick which was utterly disingenuous

Unlike football where juggernauts like Kansas State can churn out excellence in the NIL era basketball is a free agent draft and KU no longer is the highest bidder. Used to be the highest bidder when it was ILLEGAL AS crap but not that it's legal what do they have? A tractor supply on the interstate between topeka and kansas city? real appealing.

I thought Self was going to twist off after the question about losing to Moo and K-State in the same season, and I think he wanted to, but he recovered nicely and gave a legit answer.

I'm almost sure that Ron Prince said after being asked about being beaten by KU & MU for three years straight said, " It's a bullshit stat".  But hey, the guy has them playing hard.  I'd be happy if I got an 8 or 9 seed in the tourney this year.  The sluts at the Wheel will still allow him to buy drinks for them.  I'm kinda jealous.

Switched to their post game after Wyatt and Stan wrapped up.  They were still waiting for Bill to emerge from locker room for his post game chat with Gurley.  Hanni trying to fill, ...and there goes our good friend Wyatt Thompson. Hopefully, we'll bring you Coach Self's comments as he is still talking to his team in the locker room.
