Cats v Canes
« on: November 19, 2023, 01:57:56 PM »
Another rough start.

I still think we can end up pretty good, but we're looking like a bubble team right now.   Going to need a good conference record.

Perry is gonna bait them into fouling now, smart strategy.

Guys, if we stop missing all our shots and then if they start missing theirs, we can get back in this. I’m beach drunk though, so no idea if that will work.

Scoring seems to be the thing they are really good at and the thing that we aren’t really good at at all. I’ve had 17 beers today though, so what do I know. :dunno:

We’re a solid bubble team. Prob securely on the good side of the bubble (7-11 seed) w Quis, Tomlin and Ames. Without all three we’re prob barely a bubble team and prob on outside.

Gonna be often simply outclassed vs actually good teams like USC and Canes

Guys, this game doesn’t even count anyway. I’m literally in a conference room. Some dude is going to be here in like an hour trying to sell annuities to old people.

Hope we don't have many more of these pissing down on legs 3-point shooting games when we play quality teams. D has to improve. Maybe Dai Dai and Glover needed to get shots for Perry.

As I haven’t watched a single second of a B12 bball game outside of our cats, I’m prob not the one to ask.

Rewatched the game today and found some dim bright spots. Our bigs were able to score, going 9 for 11, I think. Cam was a warrior once he got agressive going to the hole in the second half and actually tied Pack as the game-high scorer with 28, which was -- as the announcers repeated said re Pack -- a tournament record. He needs to show leadership and take charge like that earlier when others are struggling. Kaluma good again.

Objectively, I can't really credit Miami for our poor 3-point shooting or first-half turnover problem. We just missed a score of open 3s and have to find focus on ball handling.

Would have been nice to have Tomlin and Ames for the game/tournament, to say nother of Glover. I think fresher legs against Miami would have been big. I think Tomlin would have made Omier work harder on defense and thus maybe limit him more offensively.

Sucks to have both true PGs out. I think we'll be 4th in the Big 12. #hottakes

Pack was a no show against Kentucky. Score 2 points while UK guard rang it up.
