Iowa State vs Kansas State Tailgating questions

We are headed to the great city of Manhattan from the wonderful state of Iowa for the Iowa State, Kansas State Game and are looking for some tailgating suggestions. I realize the time could dictate some things but wanted to know of places we should set up shop! Planning to have a grill and a tent and plenty of beverages.
We have a group of 3 couples, ages 35-45 and have a VRBO on Ranser Road which is about a mile west of the stadium, for Friday and Saturday night. Is there tailgating close to that area or should we head closer to the stadium? Looking for logistical help on a good area for a great tailgate!

The things that really puts a Kite’s burger over the top is the fixings. I’ve never had fresher tomatoes than the ones you get at Kite’s. I usually order extra tomatoes on the side because they’re just so fresh.

Don’t get me wrong, the beef is excellent as well.

I would guess that almost all the tailgating is done within a half-mile of the stadium, but I have low tailgating IQ

Tailgating happens in the stadium parking lots. We don't typically have parties in the neighborhood. Although you might get lucky and have yourself some party neighbors.

Walk to the stadium after you've crushed a few brews. Crash some tailgates. Enjoy yourself.

With where you’re staying, you might be closer to the JC Kites. I assume the burger is the same.
