local happenings this week:

Man shoots himself in the leg, crashes into parking structure

...reported that the pair had been shooting handguns earlier in the day and returned to the injured man's apartment where they were drinking bourbon and cleaning their guns. The man accidentally depressed the trigger and fired a round into his own left thigh. He then drove himself to the hospital, but lost consciousness and hit the pillar near the entrance

Burglar arrested after stealing gun, jumping from ambulance during transport

...told jail staff he’d swallowed 10 fentanyl pills, so officers requested paramedics to transport  ... escaped from the ambulance and ran eastbound across 27th Street with his hands still cuffed behind his back

Man arrested after menacing multiple people with weapons

He eventually climbed onto the hood of his car, and then the roof of his car, where he stood talking on his phone. ... had a 10-inch knife on his waist and a 3-inch knife holstered on his ankle. He was also wearing a harness and a kilt with multiple objects hanging from it.
