I bet prior to the SW KS swing he spent multiple hours staring into a mirror saying HOW-dy, how-DY, howd-Y, HOWD-y until he found one he was comfortable with.
Hey SD, I know you have asked me to shut up, but I just wanted to point out that this post had me laughing for 30 seconds. I think you are probably 100% correct that he did this, I just never thought that he would do this until you pointed it out.

I tell a lot of people to shut up, don't let that bother you.

part of me wants jc to speak at some black student union meeting or something just to see what kind of ensemble he'd put together. 8 ball jacket w/ cross colors shirt underneath and some dre beats?

I was talking about this with our DC attorney on the way back from GC yesterday and had planned on starting a thread for hypothetical places JC could be speaking at and what he'd wear.  For the BSU meeting, we had him in more of a bright-colored 1990s NBA draftee suit.  I analogized Wednesday's clownsuit earlier to him going orthodox jew at a JCC gathering.

Making the rounds at the frats?  popped collar AE shirt, boat shoes, Livestrong bracelet

It's always a scene when Currie and Jamie Vaughn call in a favor and get the seats right behind home plate.

To be fair, though, Currie is not the only dumbass who cowboys up every time he comes to western Kansas. Sam Brownback does the same thing and he sends a memo to other important people at his events encouraging them to also wear jeans and cowboy boots so he doesn't look underdressed.

Pretty much anybody from eastern Kansas does this. It's very rare to get somebody to come out here without dressing up like an urban cowboy.

:gocho:

When Komo called me Wednesday morning to update me on the travel issues he and Winters were having, he indicated that he was naked in his lawn at that point, so who knows what he'd have shown up in (if anything).

sat at the same table as JC at a hibachi joint in KC back in December.  I realized who he was but didn't really say anything, he was pretty jovial and then pulled out these and put them on when the dude starting tossing shrimp.

Stopped off in Kite's in Junction City after court yesterday (great burgers) and JC was having a lunch meeting in the north room.  I didn't even notice him until their food was served and he took off the mask he was wearing so that he could eat.  Seemed really condescending to show up in this.

Catbacker Tour is Underway
Last week we kicked off our annual tour visiting locally hosted and operated Catbacker Club events around the state and we will be coming to a town near you. Almost 2000 loyal K-Staters packed events in Dodge City, Garden City, Scott City, Colby and Hays as well a Topeka golf event on Friday. I enjoyed visiting with many of our Western Kansas fans Tuesday and Wednesday and was glad to catch the Topeka event Friday evening. Be sure to keep up with all 31 events, including recaps and photo galleries, here at www.AhearnFund.com.

Also, look what I noticed towards the upper right of kstatesports.com when I went to find the above quote.

There is a man. His name is Jerome Tang. Or as Kansas State assistant coach Jareem Dowling would say, he’s “Jerome Freaking Tang.” And there he is, the 2023 National Coach of the Year, 14 months removed from the start of this ride, and he’s standing in a purple polo, blue jeans and black ostrich boots. He’s holding court Wednesday night at the HRC Feed Yard in Scott City, Kansas.

“I was given the 4-1-1 about Scott City,” he begins. “You don’t break out the fine China for everybody. These boots have only been worn two times.”
