We just can't bust through to the inal four. Eight time and no luck. I'm sad to say I've seen them all.

Exactly we're like 13-5 in the sweet 16? We'll get there

Agree. Still hurts though. Up 7 and then miss like 2 layups/dunks to go up bigger then FAU goes on a run. They were a good team though.

I don’t think even like basketball and I had a blast watching this team. Looking forward to more.

Keep winning sweet sixteen games and eventually we'll break though.

crap, that sucks, 'zif. The three I've experienced is bad enough, I couldn't imagine enduring all eight of these.

Honestly frustrating we stuck it out with oscar as long as we did or we probably would’ve broken through by now.

Yeah, Tang built a team with everything but a rebounder this year, and that was our downfall. Let have a few years to build a complete team, and we'll shatter the ceiling all the way to a natty. Joust too bad Quis doesn't get to keep showcasing his genus.

Yeah, I still remember all of them well. Add to those the down to the wire loss to Marquette the year they won the natty on a  play they changed the rule for the next year and a 2-point OT loss to Louisville a year they won the NC. Heartbreak so many years. I just so badly want the Cats to make the FF.

4-10 in elite 8. 60 years. It hurts
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

this is like a tiny bee sting compared to 1988. The ultimate KITN.

I was too young to care much about 88 but Butler was like a billion times worse than today. For me at least.

We were definitely better than KU in 88. Easily top 5. Can't say we're better than FAU or top 5 this year.

MIR you of all people I’d expect to be a little less doom & gloomy in this situation. We got to an E8 and had some incredible national attention in Tang’s first year. There’s no reason to think we can’t be a perennial Sweet 16 team. Given enough opportunities, the FFs will come.

I have no clue what happened in 1988, but I know the last two times we made an E8 it felt like a culmination of a lot of struggles. This is year one. EXPECT TO WIN.

I'm not doomy and gloomy at all. I'm really happy with this season but disappointed that we couldn't party rock in Houston. I already have a room

I think today is comparable to 1998 simply because I think the this basketball team had about the same chance of winning two games in Houston as that football team had in beating Tennessee in the fiesta bowl.

I'm slightly sad because, right now, I don't think we have any reason to think that this was our best chance, but I'm still grateful for this ride and this is my favorite K-State basketball team of all time.

I loved this team too, which is the worst part about Tang having to put together a roster from scratch. We only had one year of seeing the key pieces together. Makes me really excited for the future, though.

Pergaps but I didn't realize it at the time!

Nobody respected Butler at the time, even when they won their final four game people crap on them, no one liked how slow they played and didn't show them respect until they rimmed that half court shot out against Duke.

What's wild is that although the style of play is vastly different, the profile of that Butler and this Florida Atlantic game is remarkably similar. Butler was 31-4 when we played them with a top 15 kenpom and a 23 game win streak. FAU was 34-3 at tipoff today with only an 11 game win streak, but the longest in the country, and 17 in kenpom.

Also been around for all eight…. Marquette and Louisville were prob two most kitn, then KU and Butler.  But for us old guys that suffered through football, Asbury, Wooldridge, Chiefs sucking… what a year!!!!   Big 12 Champions FB, SB champs Chiefs, Elite Eight Tang Gang!!!   Just hoping we can finish the job and win a natty before I croak.  My dad was there in ‘51 BB and never gave up hope.

I turn 70 in a couple of weeks....not super old but you begin to wonder, will I ever see them win the big one.  Chances like this year don't come along all that often...
