Questions...

Anyone have or know about the Alaska Airlines card?  We are looking to book a trip to Kona and Alaska has the only non-stop flight out of PDX.  I am a long time CSP owner, but they do not transfer points to Alaska, and right now the sign-up deal is 70k points which is enough for one flight.  Can I have my wife and I both sign up to get 140k points?  And part of it is one $99 companion flight yearly.  It says on your anniversary, but does anyone know if you get the companion flight at sign-up too?  TIA

hello friends. Making some changes to my Portugal trip and I was in computer smashing mode last night. A friend recommended a nice beach area outside of Lisbon so we decided to book a few days there. I haven't used Amex MR points much and Mrs SF has a crap ton due to a Platinum promotion. I was going to book through the Amex site but Mrs SF looked at the place directly on her phone and it was available for like $150 less a night for the same room!!! Is this a normal thing? I didn't even bother using the points because of the price difference.

it's pretty normal for the capital one travel site to give you higher prices.  chase is usually a little better.  haven't used amex.

Thanks. So I guess the play here is to wait for a transfer bonus or something. The other thing that was odd was that the Amex site kept showing it as booked. I didn't even consider going directly because I wanted to either use points or get the bonus from booking through the site. Another lesson learned I guess.

They only allocate a specific number of rooms for the various travel reward sites.

24 months iirc. yes.

Unlimited
Preferred - keep for transfers, Mrs SF flips every 2 years.
Amex Everyday - never use, but have some old MRs that require a card to keep.
Amazon - 5x Amazon purchases. May not be the best deal, but we get like 3 deliveries a day so points rack up pretty quick. Currently Amazoning with Freedom at 5x.
Costco- Use only at Costco
Hyatt - Should I keep this or flip it every 2 years? I got it for the first time last year. Been staying at Hyatts a bit now that I ran out of Marriott points finally.

My main flips are SW visas to get companion pass. Should prob up this game a bit.
