Sorry for reviving this thread. Just want to add something about AI.

Take music. AI can definitely make a song, but I don't think it will ever replace the human touch that makes music so special. Creating a song isn't just about putting together a catchy melody or clever lyrics; it's about expressing emotions, experiences, and stories in a way that resonates with people.

In other fields, like content writing, I think it's pretty helpful. I should know, I use it for my articles. Jasper and Content Bot are the two AI tools I use most. Perfect for generating ideas, and it saves a LOT of time. So I'm all for using them. Other AI tools are listed here: https://writingtools.co.uk/pricing.html, in case someone might need one.

I thought about this when Metro Boomin released his "BBL Drizzy" beat - the sample was AI generated! Leads to an interesting discussion about sampling rights

AI definitely CAN replace humans and even mimic the emotional aspect that makes it “human” when it comes to studio versions of music.  The technical aspects of the music are phenomenal when performed by AI. I’d be fine with an AI performed Bach recording of Brandenburg concerto 3 to listen to on my headphones on a plane flight, instead of one performed by a human orchestra.

Live music will become the differentiator, in my opinion. Musicians used to tour to support the album, now they create albums to have something to support a tour.

That’s part of the reason I love jammy, improvisational bands. The humanity, variety and emotional response pleases me.

I love live and acoustic because I want some imperfection.  I like hearing fingers move down the guitar strings know and again, for some reason, for example.  I am interested if this type of imperfection will be baked in.

I have said it elsewhere, but I think AI will just be like the calculator.  It will make things faster and make deeper work available by not spending so much time on things that used to take a lot of time.  Learning an instrument for example.

I'm not one to generally be like "technology can do anything," but I think AI could fool people on all the examples given here in a blind test. Like, it can also copy imperfections, improvisation, and even communicating human experience.

To me, that's less about technology being great than it is about humans being predictable. We tend to rehash the same archetypes over and over.

I do think there is a significant difference between something created by a human vs. AI. I'm just not sure the difference is of the "I know it when I see it" kind.
