Too many dorks talk about Texas Live for it to be actually cool. Sounds like a trap.

It's fine, much like the pnl in KC.  the point of going saturday is for the atmosphere, not the venue

Yeah, it's a sterile, corporate and overpriced venue, but it's the only thing within earshot of the stadium.

The only other place nearby is what seems to be a bar district near UT-Arlington; about 1 mile (3 min uber, 20 min walk) away from the stadium.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

That's fine. It opens at 9 am tho on Saturday. It's more the anxiety of partying there and getting to Jerry's place by kickoff. Like, how much time are your really going to have there?

I had to finally look at a map of this setup. That’s wild that there’s still a whole ass unused outdoor baseball stadium sitting there across a parking lot from an retractable roof baseball stadium.

Anyway, I think I said this for an earlier game there too, but the move for this 11am game would be to get dropped off at Walmart there, buy a cheap cooler, ice and beer, and carry it across the street to the stadium parking lot and pak.

XFL plays there.  High school football playoffs are playing there and in the new baseball stadium this weekend.

This is the truth. It maybe different, pre-Dr. Pepper, but the Texas Live place was dead prior to the Stanford game. Tailgating scene was pretty great.

Ha, yeah on google maps you can see the xfl stripes wedged in there, and I guess that's what the cleaner-looking extended stands relate too that otherwise would be crushing a left-fielder.  But maps also declares that stadium as well as the other to be the home of the rangers.

Driving over after work on Friday. Staying near the stadium. No real plans other than the game. Might watch Game Day for a bit. Give zero shits about World Cup. Will go to Deep Elum on Saturday night. See what's changed in thirty years.
Dinner plans for Babe's and the fabulous CFS family style meal.

I was looking forward to tailgating by game day. :dunno: Most my buds like to play washers and stuff.

Ended up booking a hotel by deep ellum/Baylor medical center (was $200 cheaper than any hotel in downtown ft worth) for me and a bro.

My other bro who is going to the game with us (married with kids) lives in far north McKinney and said "Pack a bullet proof vest, deep ellum is kind of shady"

I'm assuming he is just your typical mid 30's white suburbanite with kids who is afraid of going anywhere outside of his bubble but please tell me if I'm wrong. It's not like we are going to be out till 2am, just some drinks and dinner on Friday then maybe some day/evening drinks and dinner after the game.

As long as your car is parked in a safe, private place, you'll be fine. I IRL know 2 people who have had their cars stolen because they parked in neighborhood streets. There is crime, but it's property crime, not battery/assault/murder etc.

Sounds like that 15 minute walk could be dangerous. :ohno:
