Am I too anti-fascist?
« on: October 04, 2022, 06:24:12 PM »
I am pretty darn anti-fascist.

What I am wondering is if I am the equivalent of the notoriously overly-anti-communist people of the Red Scare?  I don’t mean the ones who used it to eliminate rivals, I mean the noobs on the street that actually believed that communism was so bad that they gladly sent American troops off to die on another continent.

I’d too would be willing to make others go sacrifice to stop fascism.  Maybe I am just as bad as Joe Six-Pack during the Red Scare rooting for them to stick it to the Reds?

Or am I the right amount of anti-fascist and maybe they were the right amount of anti-communist?

Well Pete I suppose that all depends on how you define fascism. For many on the right, they can’t give you a definition that isn’t in some way in perfect alignment with their most firmly held beliefs. So for them fascism is really just an umbrella term for anyone that opposes their worldview (and no they absolutely do not pick up on the irony of that)

So Pete how are you defining fascism?

You want to get to that sweet spot range of low to medium anti-fascist.

You give Putin too much credit. That’s all. None of us (maybe Dax) know if we would have been cheerleading entering Vietnam. Or Korea.

Like what the hell was even going on that made us have to go to war in Korea. Did we create NK and lead to the Kim’s?*

*I know eff all about the Korean War, and would suddenly like to learn more.

The old fashioned way, I think. Text book even:

I would 100% be against drafting citizens to go fight in Ukraine, so I probably would have been opposed to it during Vietnam.

Best I can get down to is probably medium, but that will have to do.

That’s preposterous. He’s a democratic socialist masquerading as a center leaning capitalist. It is known.

Preposterous. My dear mother assures me he is a socialist, a communist, and a fascist. ALSO, open borders.

I'm deducting a point for not incorporating "Hussein".
