I suspect people will tell you “border” and “economy,” because they don’t want to disclose their strong resistance to progressive cultural change.

Border and economy matter to most people. Most people who are against progressive social change will tell you openly. <—— These are also the Hispanic men you’re wondering about
.

Stock market is way rough ridin' up and we had better luck against inflation than any first world country.

Most people don’t care about the stock market.

Harris had stronger plans for immigration than Biden.

Harris is probably the worst nominee in history. Not her fault really.

50%+ of the country is against progressive cultural change that the Dems support.

Definitely.

I really don’t mean this in a disrespectful way, but how thick is the bubble that a lot of you guys seem to live in?
Most of the ads I saw from the GOP were about trans stuff. What am I misunderstanding?

I’m agreeing with you. Most people aren’t into the LGBT stuff/agenda whatever you want to call it.
Sorry, misunderstood! Yep, that stuff put a LOT of people off.

People of all races, genders and especially religions.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

These elections really have made me appreciate this. The guys on the news are always like “well Kamala is dominating among college educated voters but no one else.” And I’m realizing I rarely interact with anyone other than smart people who are generally successful and care about being informed.

I can’t say I regret that, but it definitely is a relatively small percentage of the country’s population who fit that metric.

Being uneducated morons is also a very large part of it. I know the other side says comments like that is why Dems always lose, but it is true. It takes 3 seconds to learn that Biden didn't make egg prices go up or that we pumped an absolute crap load of oil during his admin. Yet, if you ask a regular Joe, they will give you those reasons as to why they voted for Trump. Your average voter doesn't even know how laws are made let a lone how a policy might affect the inflation on prices of crap they buy. I'm with whoever said it above, they just say this because some of them don't want to say out loud that they don't like brown people. They have also been conditioned to believe that no matter what, the other side is worse.

According to the Motley Fool site, 67% of non-retired Americans have some sort of retirement account. It amazes me that this population didn’t notice that the fuckers went sky high as of late.

Retirement accounts don't pay the bills today.
I suppose, but we have the best inflation in the world.

LOL, and the democrats can't believe or understand why they are losing the working class and minority voters! What a bunch of condescending bullshit. This is why the dems feel the need to have super delegates.  Get out and talk to regular Joe.

The min wage/abortion victories while also picking trump tell me this is about non white people.  Poor white people cannot stand to see people of color having more success than them.  I saw a "this day in history" tweet yesterday.  I think this is also covered in the book "Caste: The Origins of our Discontent".  It is a pattern across time and culture.  "I'm not doing so bad if I can point at who is doing worse than me".

It was Rosa Parks "Poll Tax receipt" from 1964.

That is America

The melodrama that "white people just couldn't handle a black female president" just doesn't match the data.  In swing state exit polls (Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin), Harris gained 3 points on Trump among whites, relative to Biden.  Trump's gains were among hispanics, asians, and "others."

https://www.nbcwashington.com/decision-2024/2024-voter-turnout-election-demographics-trump-harris/3762138/

I think a lot of Biden voters just stayed home.

Since there were a few more whites that voted for Harris than Biden, let's go ahead and let all the other whites off the hook. Sounds good.

assuming the data i posted is correct, then white people were more likely to vote for the black woman dem nominee than the white male dem nominee.

it's hard for me to reconcile that data with the thrust of Cire's post.

I mean, I did. I know a lot of Trump supporters. Most of them literally told me that inflation and gas prices were the reason they voted for Trump, including my family members. Don't misunderstand me when I say the average American is an idiot, I totally include non Republicans too. Americans have a problematic lack of critical thinking skills and are extremely selfish. It's a real problem.

I can only imagine what a new account sees. I only follow sports people for the most part but if I flip over to the "For You" side by accident it's a disaster. I can't imagine how people actually live on that side.  ha

It's infuriating. And if you aren't on the app for a few hours, it changes from Following to For You which should be rough ridin' illegal. I'd be a ray of rough ridin' sunshine if it wasn't for having to see what political trolls, people I've blocked, and Russian bots are saying.

I deactivated. It's been a long time coming. So far no regrets. Not worth it and hasn't been since Elon took over, and realistically was trending to that before that too. Just doesn't provide any value. It's just awful besides like sickos committee and other fun stuff

It's very ragey right now, minority communities didn't do what they were told and expected to do, so the lashing out from white #blueanon pundits and apparatchiks is intense.
