That and also young zoomer golf types love trump the way they love john daly

I heard something interesting on a podcast today(Breaking Points).  One of the hosts was talking about how the campaigns are targeting men.  He then was saying he thought Dems would have a hard time with a lot of guys because most of the stuff guys like is socially and politically coded as right wing.  I think he has something of a point.

Men and boys are having a weird moment right now.  This will be something that needs to be met soon or will create a lot of issues.  I don't think either side is culturally addressing it well but the right is the only one offering sanctuary to certain types of men.
NFL honestly seems more progressive than conservative to me, but that could just be because they have an ad campaign encouraging more people to vote.

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Even the working class neighborhoods between Johnson drive and College blvd driving down Lamar.

i don't want to derail this thread, but brother we have wildly different definitions of working class neighborhoods
Those blocks and blocks of little 900 square ft 1 car garage houses with work trucks vans in the driveways?

Supposedly this lady is real good in Iowa.   And even if she misses this one and Trump squeezes out Iowa,  it even being close is horrendous news for him.

This specific area you mention is only from 71st to 83rd. Once you get past 83rd its all split levels with TWO car garages.

The fact that his disgusting self is not currently in the White House gives me some hope that this might not be the case. The possibility of identifying a clear winner tomorrow night would make this less likely, as well. But it is also possible that he drags this out until inauguration day.

I actually think it's possible if he loses badly enough to have this called Tuesday night that the rats jump ship pretty quickly

He may be fighting for his freedom. I do not expect him to go gentle into that good night.

If Don loses by an uncontestable amount, he will still play victim to grift as much as possible.

What will be most interesting is if the chips fall in such a way that Kamala beats him by a lot, that the GOP will need to recognize the loss as an overwhelming rejection and has to reform.  GOP interior seems to be very full of crazy ppl and a lot of the old standard ran for the door over the last 4-5 years.  Will those folks come back?  Will the crazy just try to find the next crazy?  Will the traditional platform come back?  Will the 2025 platform solidify?  I would expect that the 2025 guys and the Lincoln Project guys will have a full on civil war inside the party.  Will be very interesting to watch how that shakes out.   This is the best case scenario for the country, moving forward, imo.

MAGA is the Republican establishment. I don't think a Trump loss tomorrow or the end of a second Trump term in 2028 changes that. You can count on one hand the 'Pub politicians who have not debased themselves before Trump at this point. Also, look at the response to Trump wrecking the 2022 midterms with his whack-o picks -- the party re-nominated him by a massive margin. An aversion to losing hasn't broken the spell of Trumpism.

I've read several election forecasting blogs talking of "Nikki Haley voters" and the very deliberate and serious steps that Kamala Harris has taken to offer them a temporary home for this election. These stories usually mention Liz Cheney and former Trump admin people endorsing Kamala. Hopefully there was some other part of the plan that was supposed to attract these "Nikki Haley voters" if they are key to the story for Kamala.

I get that Maga is driving the bus, but I if most of the swings flip blue, and the margin is big, along with the 2022 losses, I would expect a larger fight internally and that many will see that as a confirmed mandate against Trumpism.

Even if I am wrong, there will be an absolute crap ton of political homeless that could be searching for a new home and sick of their Trump shanties.

It could drive the Dems further center.

The primary elections have not shown that the Republicans will be driven to the center to combat their losses. Not sure why a bunch of general election wins would drive dems to the center either. It does seem more likely than Republicans giving up MAGA.

Kind of off-subject, but what would "giving up MAGA" look like?  I've always conceptualized "MAGA" as more of a rhetorical phenomenon.

In other words, if the Republican policy objectives remained the same or functionally similar, but Jeb was the nominee with all his Jeb-ness and whatever, I think I would consider MAGA "given up," notwithstanding the platform continuity.  MAGA, to me, is the general baseness and unsophisticated rhetoric, rather than a specific policy or group of policies.  You know?

I mean, I hope you are right about all this but I don't see any evidence that this will happen. Trump wrecked the 2021 Georgia runoff and the 2022 midterms. They party could have nominated Haley and walked away with the current presidential election. Making Losing Great Again seems to be the GOPs only non-negotiable position right now.
