If this reporting is correct, and if such events were to occur and if the United States supports said efforts. Any politician on either side of the aisle who cried like infants about Trump starting WWIII or getting us into a war with Iran should be removed from the political process entirely and be barred from ever holding office ever again. Any bureaucrat who did the same should be fired, immediately.

This is so stupid, predictable and largely due to the policies of Biden Admin. They have let Israel do whatever they wanted, backed them at every turn when Israel continues to try and expand the scope of the war and refuses to agree to a ceasefire on terms they had previously agreed to, the response has been to support them completely.

Why would this have ever gone any different?

I think it has been in line with the policies of every administration, hasn't it?  This is much deeper and pervasive than one administration.

We should give Israel the Northern 25% of California.  Just nationalize that part California north of Sacramento, and hand it over to Israel.  Then, move all the Jews from Israel to their new Northern California home. 

Ask the Arab and Persian countries to help fund it.

Allegedly, the Israeli's struck a Syrian Air Base that was also used by the Russians.  Allegedly Iran had just dropped off weapons meant for Hezbollah at the base.

We've come a long way since Obama was giving bombing coordinates to the Russians, so the Russians could bomb the Jihadists that the DOD (or was it the CIA?) was arming in Syria

I don’t think we should worry as much about Iran bombing Israel as we should about Iran bombing Saudi Arabia. Israel doesn’t have oil but if they are going to eff with the oil market and bomb Iran, it makes a lot more sense for Iran to bomb Saudi oil targets.

Obviously we are past several red lines already, but if disrupting oil market as an explicit play to escalate the war and make things worse for uninterested third parties is not a big fat red line violation then it is hard to say what would be a red line at all for Israel.
