less deaths than the J6 coup at least

they reportedly shot down like 8 helicopters and a plane.

Maybe next time you #neocons will get what you want. #crossesfingers

Now that the WH press conferences are getting more heated as they’re  ducking and dodging questions from all corners about The Grifters Biden.

Look for the fighting Russia to the last Ukrainian to ratchet up a few more notches as well as points beyond.

Russia is officially a third world country.

Could you imagine any first world country engaging a 25K+ strong private mercenary army with the same level of equipment as the regulars?

If that’s not third worldy enough, try and imagine an armed 25K+ force violently marching toward the capital to overthrow their employer in any first world country.

It’s all just so pathetic and horrifying.

Wagner has an Air Force?

Pete, I know you are the consistent master of the obvious.

But when a country spends $850 billion dollars a year on defense  (budgeted - not including off budget appropriations, while misplacing-losing billions in the process) they don’t really need mercenaries.

I know #neocongE longs for a dystopian Mad Max level world.  I’m sure you’re very disappointed that we didn’t take a big step toward that end over the weekend. Hang in there and maybe next time. #thumbsup

It's comical at this point.

russians are the funniest liars this side of maga:

"Overnight, we have walked 780 kilometers (about 484 miles). Two hundred-something kilometers (about 125 miles) were left to Moscow," Prigozhin claimed in the latest audio message, despite no evidence that his Wagner forces made it that close to the Russian capital. “Not a single soldier on the ground was killed."

This is probably better suited for the common ground thread, but like Dax I have some things about Russia that I wish we would do.  For example, if we were more cool with just invading other countries and burning them to the ground, then we could absolutely do that to Russia right now with hardly any difficulty. They are just so, so feeble. If we were more like Russia, we could just easily destroy Russia.

In 2006, Blackwater was awarded a contract to protect diplomats for the U.S. embassy in Iraq, the largest American embassy in the world. It is estimated by the Pentagon and company representatives that there are 20,000 to 30,000 armed security contractors working in Iraq, and some estimates are as high as 100,000, though no official figures exist.[111][112] Of the State Department's dependence on private contractors like Blackwater for security purposes, U.S. ambassador to Iraq Ryan Crocker told the U.S. Senate: "There is simply no way at all that the State Department's Bureau of Diplomatic Security could ever have enough full-time personnel to staff the security function in Iraq. There is no alternative except through contracts."[113][114]

According to former CIA directory Michael Hayden, Blackwater, among other security contractors, were allowed to perform waterboarding on suspects.[118] Leaks in 2009 suggest CIA - Blackwater contracts to assassinate al-Qaida leaders.[119]

Whoa! That’s a lot of people.

I could be wrong, but I didn’t think we employed mercenaries as part of our invasion force.

I don't think we will ever get a good accounting of that and I don't think we have a good picture of where the mercenaries are now. We have a lot of people in Africa.
