Not gEing here. This is terrible for Russia as a country. They already have to import tons of guest workers from Central Asia to fill jobs in their economy. Losing all of the professionals who have the means to flee the country is really bad for them over the long term.

as best as i can tell, russia is retreating in good order well ahead of the ukrainian offensive in kherson. not a ton of combat in the last few days. ukraine is reporting capturing a lot of vehicles (presumably broken down, out of gas, whatever), but very low russian casualties.

What metrics do you use for an economy being “wrecked”? I assume it’s not strength of the currency because that decimation never occurred.
