i'm constantly surprised this isn't a bigger story.  like, russia doesn't even deny it.

This Max Boot (remember him during the Iraq war?) article is truly something.

Quote
U.S. military assistance to Ukraine has been good — but not good enough. In part, that’s because of a conceptual error we keep making. We keep thinking it’s their war. We should understand that this is our war — and act accordingly.

good start. we should just consider this our war -- and act accordingly.

Quote
The best way to keep the peace is to help Ukraine throw back the Russian invaders with devastating losses. That would send a powerful message not only to Putin but also to every tinhorn dictator on the planet: Don’t mess with the West. But that’s not what we are doing. We are providing the Ukrainians with just enough weaponry to avoid defeat — but not enough to win. The Ukrainians are outgunned 10 to 1 in artillery in the critical battle being fought in the eastern Donbas region. That’s unacceptable.

Where have I heard this before?  This type of pure power militaristic fantasy is the exact same thinking that resulted in Iraq.

He goes on to say that the $40 billion plus is STINGY because if it were Americans fighting the war, we would definitely do more and why are Ukranian lives worth less than American lives?

Boot should just be more honest and say he wants the US to go to war with Russia instead of this insane rhetorical balancing act.

I agree with him when he says what we're doing amounts to a barely meaningful half measure. I don't agree with him that we should fight this war as if it's is our own.

It's not $40 billion, it's actually more like $70 billion and counting.

Oh, it’s used often when #blueanonGe (featuring Spracs) makes a unilateral declaration.

I believe that @Spracne owes the rest of #blueanonGe/#neoconGe an apology for his extreme deflectobot theater last night.

Let's stick to discussing this wholly avoidable war in Ukraine, that clearly our #neocons (starting with our Perpetual War President) want to see go on for a long long long time.

I think we should establish air superiority and get this thing over with.
