OK, so someone who knows more about this team and their situation please tell me why we throw J Lewis over Howard out there when Skyler went out? I understand the 4 game limit and burning a redshirt, but one of the biggest rough ridin' games of the year (in the current situation) is on the line, we don't put our best option on the field? I can't imagine our coaching staff feels Lewis is the better option, so are we that screwed at QB in the future? Makes no sense to me

Probably spoke with Howard and his fam that he was going to red shirt. Since they hit bowl eligibility they probably didn’t discuss contingencies like this.

Or it could be he is RS this year and plans to transfer out after the season. No inside info, just throwing darts.

To me, neither of those situations are valid. You put in your best option to win the game no matter what. It's not like we were down 3TDs with no shot to win. Howard is a decent running QB, so go try to get the rough ridin' win. I don't get it.

So then you are of the mindset he’s injured and was dressed as an emergency 6th string QB? As a fan it’s annoying AF to watch it go down like that, but we had no shot to win that game when Skylar went down, and we have no idea the discussions that have gone on about RS.
