Just spit balling here but my guess, and this is wild so it might not be it, but I'm guessing it had something to do with that same 5'5" running back going for a 45 yard touchdown the previous time he touched the ball, also on a short yardage play. And the opponent had the worst rushing defense in the conference.

There's no way to measure this, but we absolutely won't get KU's best shot. There is literally no way they'll play as well as they did against OU. I don't even know how they pulled that off. I don't think there's much doubt that this is the worst KU team in our lifetime. Maybe, probably the worst Big 12 team ever. The 1999 Baylor team scored 61 points in 8 conference games.

Wow, you're right. There's absolutely no way that those two scenarios could possibly be different and require different play calling. Let's go ahead and line up in shotgun in our own endzone for a short yardage running play that they know is coming, because there's no way that could end poorly for us.

And what about the other 5 plays? Fairly certain I posted that after back to back three and outs by our offense coming out of halftime.
