“My messages “ feature

“My Messages”

Am I doing something wrong?  Why is this feature so clunky?  Why can’t I see the messages I send to people?  The only time I can see my sent messages is if someone replies back to it.  Why is this feature the equivalent of a monkey ******* a football.

Have you clicked on "messages" to get the drop-down that includes "sent items?"
