I think income tax cuts are aimed more for wealthy people whereas populism tries to appeal to "ordinary" people.  :dunno:

Today, populism is mostly just libertarian chuds who don't want to pay for anything that they personally aren't using.

It's the TEA party

I think of populism as telling the masses that all of their problems are the fault of some other group of people and also telling them that they need you to fix it.

It does apply to some liberals. It also applies to Trumpism.

Oh my goodness.

You just described the titanium reinforced platform of the ProgFascist movement.

It does apply to some a substantial number of liberals. It also applies to Trumpism.

Yea those stupid hicks from Topeka, KS started the Populists party back around the 1890's.  For some reason they thought the rich were going to control presidential and congress through elections and lobbyists.
What a rough ridin' lark!

I want to fight to save the word populist but I don’t have the energy and patience of Thomas Frank, so I’ll just let him worry about it.

That seems right in line with what I would expect a populist of her nature to do.

Poor people are bad guys that only she can save her voting base from, so of course she will cut their subsidies.

This is populism. And imo an example of why populism in itself isn't a bad thing.

The Great Orator.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Congrats to #blueanon for continuing to play the "They're coming after your social security" card.  Sadly, there are millions of #blueanon'ers who believe that to their core.

Fully assimilated.  Fully indoctrinated

Deep State RINO squish Jair sells out to the woke left and asks his supporters not to engage in violent protests or obstruct the peaceful transfer of power in Brazil. Very SAD.
