I think Miguel could be a lynchpin for this team as they develop. He has shown some toughness that oscar teams need to be successful. In a couple of the games where we were getting embarrassed, he got more aggressive and was willing to put his shoulder into a defender and drive.
I have no problem with the talent on the team. I have a problem with the talent being limited to two out of the four classes for 6 years in a row and not getting corrected.
Yeah this is the problem and reflects Oscar's lack of overall program management skills. The big concern should be that if he was that inept or indifferent about recruiting at a level that could sustain a program when he knew he would deal with the consequences, how few shits is he going to give when he knows it won't be his problem when he is enjoying retirement?
Dude has landed a crap ton of 4 stars and has respectfully reeled in a ton of top 150's. Unfortunately, when they don't work out and leave, they also suck elsewhere. It's a gamble every year when you bring in new kids. You love bashing his recruiting efforts, when he's a fine recruiter. If anything, he lacks developing players. If only we had a Justin Williams to fix this team. 
No wacky, he's either a terrible recruiter, a terrible evaluator, or a terrible developer of talent, or any combination thereof, and that is why we're at where we are right now. You can't be 9 seasons in and have twice the number of transfers as players he's graduated, that's abhorrent. If he gets fired it will be his fault that he has proven that he can't be consistently relied upon to identify, land, and develop players for this program.
He’s a world class talent evaluator. Probably average developer. Way below average recruiter.
I see fault in his ability to be a GM of his program. He and his staff have been particularly bad at missing on bigs.

The combination of missing on bigs and mismanaging/losing guards that were pretty good have been the major reason for the rollercoaster.
This is great, I thought wetwillie was gEing. Calling someone a world class evaluator who on average runs off over 3 players a year is historically awful evaluation.
He is incredible at talent evaluation. Nijel is an excellent example. He sucks complete crap at closing so he typically ends up with really poor recruits. Like how can you not close CJ Noland, legacy recruit at a position of need that could play day one.
I'll give you credit for Nijel being a testament for being a great talent evaluator, even though he was a top 150 recruit. How many other examples do you have of oscar being a great talent evaluator, because I guarantee you that I can name two misses for every hit you name.
The Flush, Marcus Foster, Westicles are guys that were phenomenal players that went under recruited that he found. He finds crap tons of dudes before they blow up he just usually gets teabagged on the trail when it any kind of competition comes up. He whiffs in the fall and then brings in all the dudes you are about to rightfully mention because it’s what’s left in the spring. It’s maddening this dude knows talent and can clearly coach talent when he has it but he can’t close and basically refuses to do anything different to change the outcome. His 2021 class is not a P5 class and I highly doubt 2022 will be either.
All of those guys fit the same profile, they are fringe 150 guys who were great high school players but there was one particular thing about them that scared the top 40 schools off. That isn't evaluating for fit, that's finding the occasional gem out of the bargain bin. I'd put Dajuan and Nijel in that same bargain bin.
He doesn't bring guys in the spring because he's whiffing on recruiting, which he's definitely doing. He's bringing in guys late in the spring to fill the holes from players he's ran off because, TA DA, he isn't identifying right fits with the spring players he signs, it's a vicious never-ending vortex.
Also Marcus Foster was not lightly recruited. I'm letting you keep him in your little group because his recruitment fell off because he got hurt the summer before his junior year and got fat. He was a top kid in that class. His offer sheet is still better than any other player oscar has signed, multiple other P5s and other good high majors like Creighton and SMU when Larry Brown was there.
I wanna make one more point about recruiting that has come up here once our twice, but really not enough. Alvin Brooks landed Wes and Marcus, probably the two best recruits of the Weber era, no nor probably, definitely. We lost him to a conference opponent who has runaway with the conference and is going to get the overall #2 seed in the tournament. That's brutal.
