Florida's governor has drafted "anti-mob" legislation to expand already controversial Stand Your Ground laws -- to allow people to shoot looters, according to a report.A draft of Gov. Ron DeSantis' proposed bill expands the list of "forcible felonies" under Florida's self-defense law to include criminal mischief causing "interruption or impairment" of a business, according to the Miami Herald, which obtained a copy through a records request. It also specifically allows force against those looting, which the draft defines as burglary within 500 feet of a "violent or disorderly assembly."DeSantis also wants to make it a third-degree felony to block traffic during a protest -- and offer immunity to drivers who accidentally kill or injure protesters who do so, according to the Herald.
A week ago, Darren Beattie tweeted this thinly veiled disguise for the N-word.Today, President Trump appointed him to an agency that oversees Holocaust memorials.Beattie will almost certainly deny his tweet was racist. But it's easy enough to see the game he's playing. https://t.co/vsGrgkKGPa pic.twitter.com/JwIxDaLxr9— Nick Martin (@nickmartin) November 19, 2020

Roger Marshall's argument for not raising the minimum wage is that he had a minimum wage job and it paid for his entire college tuition. When he graduated from Kansas State University, tuition was $898/year. It is now $10,000/year. The minimum wage then was $3.35. It's now $7.25 pic.twitter.com/wmXouv2An6— Timothy Burke (@bubbaprog) February 24, 2021

I started working by bussing tables at the Star Family Restaurant for $1/hour & slowly moved up to cook – the big leagues for a kid like me– to earn $6/hour. Businesses in small towns survive on narrow margins. Mandating a $15 minimum wage would put many of them out of business. pic.twitter.com/izQDOGRAH1— Senator John Thune (@SenJohnThune) February 24, 2021

SCOOP: Jim Jordan failed to report nearly $3 million in campaign raising and spending over the last two years. The FEC wants to know why. It could be tied to a new backdoor payment scheme for GOP digital fundraising. Me @thedailybeast https://t.co/Ch7q41w0zq— Roger Sollenberger (@SollenbergerRC) March 3, 2021
