How quickly does the average 42 billion dollar project start construction? 4 years seems very reasonable.

It appears the money has been allocated to the states now for a year:

Also it appears that about 1/3 of US states have explicit legislation prohibiting the construction of municipal broadband infrastructure.  A real pickle to be sure.

In addition 1/3 of the states is not all the states. So trying to hide behind that to justify and defend zero connections in 3 years is absolute derp but very onbrand for #blueanongE

The total avoidance of the primary crux which is the ridiculous rules they’re trying to impose is 1000% on brand. The resident selective defenders of the free market system suddenly get all ragey and defensive when their boy is being attacked (as usual) Even when their boy is clearly favoring government over the free market or at least the commercial market (very highly regulated in this sector already) - in this case wanting to fund state and local government networks in direct competition with telecom companies.
