Maybe if our Department of State was more diplomatic, our relations with other African countries would be better, but all they are these days is a giant ball of threats.
Even worse, some of the countries where we are losing a foothold because of coups . . . some of the coup plotters were trained by the United State. Reminiscent of DOD backed "moderate rebels" fighting against CIA backed "moderated rebels" in Syria. Moderate Rebels = Hardcore fundamentalist jihadists, of course.

Some things are just window dressing, Lick.
If Xi's little piss boy was that worried about what the Chi-Coms are doing, then he should start in our own hemisphere, and he should stop implementing policies in various arenas that play right into Chinese manufacturing hands. Also take all the ridiculous virtue signaling mandates off the semiconductor initiatives that have manufacturers on the cusp of telling his administration to pound sand. He should also quit providing incentives to Chinese manufacturing in the United States (as has been documented on this blog).
I appreciate the fact that you aren't recognizing that we have mumped things up so bad in other parts of Africa that we're now having to scrape the very bottom of the barrel . . . again.
