So the times acquired 20 years worth of tax returns but didn’t publish any of it?

Were normal people under the impression that wealthy people pay taxes? This isn’t a “Trump” thing this is a tax policy thing.

As for “he’s broke” that is some of the dumbest crap I’ve ever heard.

I agree that rich people should pay more taxes.

1) I am happy if people get mad at Trump about this. It would be good and hopefully would lead to good reforms made at the IRS and to our tax code.

2) mitt Romney had some outrageous crap like a multi million dollar IRA where he basically took deferred compensation as shares in some Bain subsidiary or something that were worth millions of dollars. It is all bad. The $750 is only meaningful insofar as it pisses enough people off to demand some changes.

3) the ways in which real estate investment can be manipulated to avoid taxes is something that is particularly pernicious. Democrats making this solely about trump are making a tactical and a strategic mistake.

as i've said before, your media diet is damaging your brain.  it's true that there are some fairly egregious tax loopholes for certain classes of income.  it's also true that the us income tax is highly progressive (payroll taxes, unfortunately are not) and extremely wealthy people pay a lot in income taxes in the united states.

as perspective on the tweet below.  total federal tax receipts in 2016 were 3.3 trillion, 1.7 trillion from income taxes.

Trumpers trying to use this to prove how smart he is really show how warped their thinking has gotten.

Biden needs a better accountant, my goodness.  He paid almost 4MM in taxes on 11MM in income?
