sounds like the city initially approved the project w/o sprinklers, and just this week decided they did in fact want the garage sprinkled. parking garages have exceptions in the code so this is not a black and white issue as far as i can tell. i am not a plumbing engineer.

nobody will get fired.

Mandated by what entity? If it's the city, they whiffed during their permit review.
As I've stated twice, I'm not sure a parking garage is subject to the same fire protection requirements as a typical building in the IFC

A friend and I did a presentation in second grade on jb. The highlight was going out into the hall to get ready for it and then walking into the classroom with me on his shoulders and an adult raincoat over us to try and make it look like we were just one tall person. You know, because jb was really tall.

Man, J.B. was one severe looking dude. I listed to the three-part The Dollop podcast about him. Very weird life. But he's inexorably intertwined with Kansas history and Lawrence specifically, and I love him for that. No one could ever dispute that he was one of a kind. He's like a real-life Tarantino movie.

My boss was in MHK for a wedding and one of his friends was there when the person got shot.

That was his first time visiting Manhattan and I was talking up how great it is
