Brenda outta nowhere with the steel chair!

Also, why can't Betty wear a mask?

Betty never explains why she can't wear a mask, but Debbie does

Quote
Well mostly because that’s my choice but the reality is that I wear glasses and it caused them to steam up to the point I have to remove it every 30 seconds. I have tried various solutions none of which have worked for me.

There is a lady on my feed that has hand sewn like 300 masks for people already.  She ordered more supplies that should be here on Friday(From what she said) and last check she already has 150+ orders to do when the shipment of supplies comes in. She is doing it for free but asking for donations that go to the front line workers. Pretty cool.

This group was thought up and created by The Enquirer as a way for community members to share news about your neighborhood and celebrate your community.

We've heard from many of you that you'd like more monitoring. We hear you and recognize that we have not been able to put the level of effort that is needed in order to do so. But we also recognize that this group has strayed away from the intended purpose.

The Enquirer has decided to close this Facebook group, effective Monday, May 11.

We've been made aware that there are other community groups that have been started. Please feel free to share links to those in the comments below.

SnapChat deleted my daughter’s account and sent an email saying she violated the terms of their user agreement. She doesn’t know what she did. Last thing she posted was a gif of a cat. Don’t know if there was a copyright violation. I looked at her source of this post, but it just had a nonprofit address. Everything looked innocent enough. The SnapChat email only sends the link to the user agreement but no indication of what the violation was. There’s no contact information or customer service link to find out more. How do we know she wasn’t hacked with a fraudulent message? I’m really annoyed with them. I want to complain to the Better Business Bureau because there appears to be no recourse. The account deletion seemed so arbitrary.

In our neighborhood there's a lot of animosity toward renters from the homeowners.  Typically on Saturday night after all the Karens have too many glasses of wine, one of them will start a passive aggressive post about their neighbors that are "renters" and it devolves into people proclaiming they wish they'd never bought a house here or that all the Karens are why they would never buy in the neighborhood.  It's good times.

one time my landlord (and next door neighbor) forwarded us an email railing against a potential city law allowing larger mother-in-law units. A big argument against the larger units was not enough parking, another was it would bring in more renters who will negatively change the character of the neighborhood.

There's a big push for the HOA to forbid rental homes.  Apparently a lot of people believe renters lower the home value more than foreclosed and vacant homes.

I just moved here from the Bay Area in California due to an issue I had with my family and I’m now living with my Aunt near Mt. Olympus.  I’m just wondering, how conservative is this city? Everyone back home tells me it’s “backwards” and I don’t see it that way but I’m just wondering, how Conservative is it really here, because it looks like a normal American city to me. Also, how are the Salt Lake City Police like?In California, our local PD was kind of crooked but I’m just wondering about SLC.

Thanks,
Your friendly neighborhood Californian

@michigancat, did you move to Utah?

Title: Can we stop complaining about lawns just now?

Quote
I spent time in a hospital two weeks ago (not related to COVID 19). The very day I was released from the hospital, I was on my way to pick up my prescriptions when a neighbor flagged me down to ask if my teenaged son could please mow our lawn. My teenaged son is considered an essential employee at his job, and he's also navigating online learning with a parent who's experiencing health issues. We'll get to the mowing when we can. He has work and school, and I have health to consider. Every single blade of grass was well under the maximum height the city would cite us for, but I do admit it was not a pretty lawn. We have a pandemic going on. Unsightly grass is really not an issue right now.

There is a guy in our neighborhood who would have been over mowing as soon as he read that post.  Not this guy, but a guy.

So this is in response to a post speculating about which bars would survive through all of this. It is the first mention of race anywhere, and to no one's surprise, Joy is a millennial aged white girl.
