His hips and back were hurting over the weekend and then today he woke up with a cough and fever so went in.

this is poor timing in light of sd's news, but two more acquaintances have died. both in mexico. one roughly my age, i only met her once when she stayed with us for a few days in spain. the other is the father of one of my wife's friends.

Yeah, it was either in a hospital (my new nephew born a few weeks ago) or in the gas station/grocery store. He hasn’t been anywhere else recently.

Meantime my dumbass dad was bragging to me about how he “took my mask off halfway thru the flight and didn’t put it back on until unboarding. They didn’t give me anymore guff.”

My mom is anti-mask, it’s a hoax, going away after the election etc and it rough ridin' drives me nuts. She lives in the middle of nowhere WY tho otherwise she probably would have gotten it already.

mom has low grade fever and almost certainly has it. dad was 103.5 last night and was too weak to even get undressed. his cough isn't super bad right now. he's 66 and she is 63.

also from the sound of it you are not supposed to come to the hospital unless you are almost dead. which makes some sense for not spreading it but kinda scary.
