Biden's most basic appeal is "calm the waters."

Is there any election outcome that would make everyone chill and go back basically ignoring politics instead of passionately obsessing over it with every fiber of their being?
I'm leaving the pit as soon as trump leaves the white house. I hate it down here.

Biden:  Vote for me because nobody cared what we did, so we could go all around the world doing really stupid crap and the majority of the media didn't care and the average BidenVoter was too stupid to understand.

So, as you can see, a Biden win just takes us back to an Obama’esque environment and Dax screams into the Fox News echo chamber and the rest of us start talking about sports again. Valhalla. Jo’halla if you will.

2021 is going to be amazing. Travel. Bars. Going to sports. Not worrying about what the president is screwing up. Throwing away my masks. I'm horned up already

In that light, then, a higher-percentage play might be the NBA’s commitment to materially expanding voting access for residents of the league’s 30 cities, most of which trend poorer and blacker, and are more vulnerable to the violence players are protesting than their surrounding areas. (The Toronto Raptors are lobbying to help U.S. expats vote absentee.) As of this writing, The Associated Press reports that at least 20 teams have already announced concrete plans to set up voting centers at their arenas. Depending on the state, voters will be able to potentially vote early, register to vote or actually vote at those arenas on Election Day.

No credit to this goes to LeBron. More importantly, opening these arenas as polling places is a half measure. There are two additional things that need to happen to make this a success. First, they need to be able to staff these sites so that there aren't thousands of people standing in line. Secondly, they need to have some mechanism to get the people they are trying to serve to these polling places. If these things don't happen this was all much ado about nothing.

I find it believable that they blew all that money, but this doesn't come close to accounting for where it went.

the main answer to what happened to trump's financial advantage is that biden is raising ungodly sums of money.

Obviously

Yeah but I'm afraid that Trump has the Trumpers so Trumped up that they will be to Biden what anti-Trumpers are to Trump.  No?

Clearly current politics make you feel icky or something, but that's a you problem, and it will be after Biden is elected, too.

Aspects of politics do, but I'm comfortable either ignoring them or discussing them without letting them work me into a tizzy. And some things are icky but I think should be addressed, so I can focus energy on correcting those things.

The amount of disinformation is icky. Icky is putting it mildy. It's not new, but it's at siren levels.

Yeah misinformation is bad. I don't think that's 33's issue though.

Is it the general disdain politicians and — even more so — regular people seem to have for each other now regarding most things even remotely political? That’s what makes me feel icky. This is especially true on social media.

It also makes me feel icky when I do it myself.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

catdude_33,

if you have come around to the idea that pretty much no politician are worthy of respect and all should just be yelled at and threatened until they do the right thing, then yeah it is overwhelming and everything sucks all the time.

But you
1) have always said you don't care about politics
2) it doesn't affect you

so may I suggest returning to the grilling thread and just thriving for the last few decades? it isn't hard man. pretty much none of us are going to affect anything anyways, at least just enjoy the mental health benefits.

Why are you back sliding during your prime grilling years?
