I drink seltzer water 24/7/365. I set up a carbonation rig with a CO2 tank, a ball-lock connector, and a carbonation cap so that I'd stop going through so many sodastream bottles

its been years on this blog since i've seen a quality "home carbonation rig/i'm stocked up on TP" humblebrag but 8MP nailed it.
Ack, I honestly thought it was paper towels until your post

8mp been wiping his ass w/ corn cobs for no reason?

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

What’s the difference between that 2 liter and a can of unflavored la croix?

Not much. Just reusability, and you can carbonate whatever you want - cocktails mostly. More work than it's probably worth, just a fun project.

Edit: long term much cheaper than using sodastream canisters or buying Lacroix

How often do you have you switch out (or fill up) the CO2 tanks? And where do you go to do that? When I was in college (in Lawrence), we had to take our CO2 tank to either a fire extinguisher refill shop (lol) or a paintball store because the pickens were slim for that task.

I think you answered both of your own questions.

There are 2 questions:

(1) How often do you have to refill the tank? [which I could not have answered, due to differences in tank size and consumption patterns]; and
(2) Where do you go to fill it up?? [i.e., is it any more convenient than it was when I previously dealt with it in Lawrence a decade+ ago?].

I think there is roughly 20 times the amount of CO2 in the tank as the sodastream cartridge which I went through about once every 2-3 weeks.  Don't have to refill often, though that's dependent on how often you use it. There is a place close by that does cylinder refills, mostly for breweries and bars but they do retail too, so that is easy.

To get this thread back on track, for dinner I made biscuits and fried chicken thighs. Had a couple of fried chicken sandwiches.

My HS/College days included lots of cherry vodka mixed with Dr. Pepper.  Also, chicks loved it if mixed properly.   :drink:

HS was a lot of vodka and cherry 7up. Freshman/sophomore year of college was 1.75L per week with random pop mixers.

Spiked route 44 cranberry limeades at HS football games and even into college were money.

I ate half a box of these the other night before bed.  I was at a solid 6 and it seemed like a good idea at the time.

They sell pints mixed in with the single serve ice cream sandwiches and bars at QT, so yeah.

The thing i hate about the pint container is how they taper down. Even if my intention was only to eat half (lol) i'm not going back to calc 3 to do the math to figure out how far down that is. So what I do is eat half of the total height, then realize "well crap now there's only a few bites left might as well finish 'er off" and then continue that pattern of behavior always

I really don't get people who drink the hard seltzer drinks but don't drink seltzer water, they taste exactly the same to me, and neither is good.

well, one gets you drunk

I love seltzer water, but it’s only a substitute for flat water in my book. If they could make an actually good nonalcoholic beer I’d probably drink that instead.

There are some things that will probably kill me at any moment that I just love the crap out of doing. Obvious ones like drinking excessively and being a lazy POS but this is a thread for the connoisseurs and collectors.

I eat these things like crazy. The sodium could stop my heart midway through. I probably eat this stuff twice a week at lunch. Is it spicy? Yes. Does it make me feel like trash? Yes. Do I still crave it? Yes.

Do they have low/no calorie seltzers yet? I'd drink about a million if so

Like....no calories with booze? I don’t think that is possible. Because of the booze calories. But they are essentially vodka sodas so pretty much as low calorie as booze can be.
