Anyways reading that Reuters article not as reactionary to a pandemic/bioweapons but as a description of our current state of affairs is an odd take.

I mean the U.S. has only been engaged in Bio Warfare research for nearly a century, and the same with our counterparts in Europe (only longer) and Russia and points beyond, and now China in the last 30 to 40 years or so.

So it's just crazy to think that in the year of our Flying Spaghetti Monster 2021 with the quantum leaps in supercomputing, AI modeling, gene splicing etc. etc.  To think that an emerging and hostile super power would use massive amounts of data in the area of genetics against us is, well, crazy talk apparently.

What’s the general accepted working theory on how it originated? I was thinking it was an accidental exposure in a Wuhan lab and then that person was patient 0.  I’ve been working the assumption it was accidental and then when China figured out wtf happened they suppressed the news.

Australia for example just shut down an entire city of 2 million over 1 positive test.

Australia is in an economic recession and while their leadership keeps trying to tell everyone they're coming out of it, there's still over 1 million unemployed in a country of 25 million people.  Nobody is buying the governments BS about emerging from their first recession in 30 years.   

It's also the middle of the summer in Australia.
