daily cases have ticked recently. first few days of this week should let us know if that's a blip or a reversal of trend.
with the addition of this week's data, i'm pretty well convinced that the uptick in case counts reflects a real uptrend in transmission, not just an artifact of testing.
at the same time, we're getting close to the end of october and the increase in transmission rate is quite small. nationwide, i have no idea how many schools and universities are conducting in-person classes and how many aren't, but this has been basically a best-case scenario in terms of a school opening effect, imo.
