The CoronaBro narrative has been a constant stream of implying how other countries are doing a much better job.   With very few if any references to a multitude of caveats (almost innumerable) as to how and why that may be the case.

We also see, that in the majority of countries, lessening of restrictions has shown an almost immediate uptick in virus cases. 

Look at recent posts, you dumbasses are now rolling back around to wishing we would have had a lockdown like Italy FFS.    Italy's health minister just 48 hours ago is already warning against the nullification of "sacrifices" and they've barely emerged.

On a national level you've got people praising the Grandma Killer governors now, that's how mumped up this is.

Can you honestly not distinguish between an uptick and the explosion of cases we've had per capita?  This is not a "we do more tests" data point.  This has all been posted 1000 times.  Why is that?  Again they have a better plan of attack and listen to the data.  Trump goes with his "gut" and chooses to change his tune based on whatever shiny object is put in front of him.

FWIW I don't think the US can or will do anything beyond what's already in place other than close schools when the outbreaks come. I don't think there's a point to further lockdowns in the US unless ICU's get overrun, I'm just holding out hope for the at-home saliva test approvals and a quick vaccine.

I mean, I think a really strict lockdown would do a lot of good, but it's too late for anyone to agree to it, even on the coasts.

Pfft . . . Vietnam has had an uptick and now health officials in SE Asia are investigating a new strain of the virus, as the case count increases. 

The only thing that prevents "explosion" is lockdowns, what has been proven over and over, that unless you're a small island nation that literally shuts down everything.   Any emergence from lockdown coincides with an almost immediate increase in cases.  In the case of Germany, they were on the cusp of an explosion and they're still in the the beginning phases, which now, because they were on the cusp of an explosion, they're staying right where they're at now in terms of restrictions and threatening a new lockdown (protests on the streets).

Merkel is saying no more lifting on any restrictions.   What we are seeing is 1000% proof that there's truly no reason for anything resembling hardcore lockdowns until there are vaccines. 

Nothing is going to stop this virus, and keeping people locked down is only stalling the inevitable until there is a vaccine.
