Texas is on a two day slide in infections.   Hospitalizations are up, overall Texas Hospitals still has 15,000 staffed beds available and over 1500 ICU beds available.

Texas is at peak testing, running 30K plus viral detection/antibody tests a day.

Eh, weekend reports are always low (as are mondays for that matter).  Keep an eye on the week over week numbers to have a better idea of which direction they're trending in (i.e. how did 6/21's numbers compare to 6/14's, etc.).

Also obviously keep an eye on death numbers too, week over week.

I'm well past wanting to read more bad news on this but the past 7 days doesn't seem to be producing much good news.  Deaths down is definately great news but ffs shouldn't we be a little beyond that being the only success criteria 6 months into this?

Just today, there was a NYT opinion article by a doctor that affirmed the obvious.  That the medical business in the U.S. is big business, and right now a major component of that big business in many areas is shut down or not up to full speed, the losses collectively are in the billions.    He asserts that 20% of expensive medical procedures, tests and surgeries aren't really needed.    Or in my opinion and personnel familiar experience, piling on.   Show up with good private insurance and good jobs and watch the doctors pile on.   It's quite amazing, actually. 

So that begs the question, how many current SARS-Covid-19 hospitalizations truly need to be in the hospital?   We'll probably never know.

I'd really like to know the rationale they are trying to communicate here.  Even his press secretary given time to think out a defense for the "we should slow down testing" "joke" said this.  It makes no sense.

I know the resident Useful Idiots get all  , but there's little doubt in my mind that if other countries had the shear volume of tests conducted as the United States, their infection rates would be up as well.   But Useful Idiots still rub it out over island nations of 5 million people and try and compare them to the United States.   But, no politicization though.

You guys vacillate between demanding dictatorial martial law like measures one minute and being militant states rights advocates the next.

As the college football 2020 threads show, most RUIN's want to shut it all down again and have a "national strategy", well the "national strategy" is Federalization of the entire process or de facto Martial Law.    If we're going to go that route might as well go the whole way . . . oh but wait wait, RUIN will lose their crap (as usual) and decide that rough ridin' Trump can't tell states what to do, rinse-repeat.
