China you are really, REALLY lying your nuts off

I've said multiple times that they're lying and I do believe it. However, I do think it's possible that Wuhan has little to no positive cases. They have been on lockdown since late January, and clearly their lockdown was in fact an actual lockdown, much different than what we have here. I also think they had a crap ton of cases, which means a greater crap ton of survivors that now have antibodies. I also think they have ability to closely monitor people who test positive and to isolate them. I wouldn't be surprised to find out sometime later that they essentially created leper colonies.

It's much easier for them to control it when they know what they are facing.

I feel like I have to put a disclaimer out there for the Stevesie’s of the world who might think I take Clay seriously, I don’t, but I’m definitely eating popcorn on this tweet.

https://twitter.com/claytravis/status/1247677361270685701?s=21
Seems unlikely to me. But if true it would be an incredible testament to shelter in place policies.

500 people die from accidental deaths every day. Another roughly 75 people die everyday from homicides. All of this crap is going to be way down. Dumb conspiracy theorists like Clay Travis wants to own the libs instead of utilizing some common sense. If deaths are down it proves exactly the opposite of what he wants it to prove. People staying the eff at home saves lives in the short term. If these dummies want to discuss the ills of staying home, they should focus on mental health and the long term chronic health effects. I think the number of people who won't be able to shake a sedentary lifestyle won't be insignificant.

they definitely put covid 19+ in camps/hospitals and treated/imprisoned them there.  nothing hidden about it.

a day or two ago i posted a tweet from a person living in hong kong who had been placed in a room for 14 days after he was identified as having had contact with a covid 19 + person.  not quite the same as the mass camps in china, but still a fair bit different than western countries.

Will be interesting what back to work looks like in offices  Masks?  Ensuring cubes are properly separated (goodbye open concept collabo office setups)?, temp checks when coming in?

Our team isn't going to be one of the first rushing back in but we're in good shape working remotely

Tons of larger property owners are allowing payment plans, with the thought that the gov checks will come in soon.  I know some renters who didn't pay but not because they didn't have it but because they knew there would be no eviction and they wanted to horde cash for the unknown.

Got an email today that 4th year Dental students and final year residents will be deemed as “unqualified” to apply for any state license and won’t be able to finish their programs until they can finish the in person requirements for their craft. This was for four different programs in the state of New York. Imagine going 4-6 years extra of school (counting some residencies) and told you’re incomplete and can’t work at this time, for the foreseeable future, until you complete some extra tasks in person. Great stuff!

holy crap

I saw a chart in volume of searches of "I can't pay my rent" vs. "I can't pay my mortgage" and how rent is a much bigger issue but we'll probably bail out homeowners instead of renters. wish I could find it, oh well.

I'd say that if renters can't pay rent, landlords probably need bailed out. Limiting the ability to evict should at least provide some protection to renters.

Sucks.  Hopefully the additional requirements won't take too long.

gonna be a shitload of shitty face shields on the market - I think this is the only thing the tech braintrust not already producing medical devices can actually produce and distribute. (although Cook did say they were sourcing masks which is good)

side note: if you want to piss my wife off, improperly wear an N95 in public. we went to a grocery store in SF yesterday and like half of the N95's were worn by dudes with beards. (and really you shouldn't wear an N95if you aren't a health care professional working with sick people)

It does suck, but if these programs are meant to have certain tasks completed before you are able to work out in the world, I'm fine with keeping those requirements.  I don't think there is cause to arbitrarily advance people through a program they haven't completed.

from the sounds of it, Resident Doctors are facing the same issue. They may have to extend their residencies a few months, if things settle down. A lot don't start their "real" jobs till late summer early fall so the only thing they are losing is their time off between residency and their new job.
Sometimes I think of the Book of Job and how God likes to really eff with people.

I know, I know... One of my Directors told me to check it out. He’s a Northeast guy. He honestly doesn’t gaf. They do weekly conference calls and give us the option to join in on the call to see where they’re at. CEO, Directors, etc.

It sucks but doctor is not a position that I want schools to say "good enough" even 90% of the way through their program.

Also, it sucks for a bunch of other jobs out there too so I really don't feel particularly bad for them.
