I think sd's point is Delta can get us to 85% immunity one way or another, which can be perceived as good. No way in hell someone in the US who isn't already vaxxed is going to get vaxxed, but getting them sick and/or dead quicker will get us out of this mess quicker

I saw something on this. Apparently, kids' immune systems are significantly different from adults. So, no chance to move up the Oct/Nov target.

I talked to our sons pediatrician a few weeks ago about the rollout for children (lets say 5 and under). I came away from the conversation that we're a little bit away from the rollout and a large portion of pediatricians will probably delay recommending it even longer.

Granted it's just one doctors take.

I had a sore throat and cough and I’ve been around family all weekend so I got a test yesterday. Negative, so that’s a relief, but was worried I’d given my brother’s kids the delta variant or something.
