Chicken tenders
« on: November 19, 2019, 12:16:07 PM »
There's been a lot of talk about chicken tenders, maybe...maybe too much talk.  However, there is no other thread dedicated to this food.

I like Hardee's / Carls Junior chicken tenders best for a drive-through tender.  For an order-at-the-counter-but-sit-down place, I like Raising Cane's.  For sit-down-order-from-a-server-at-the-table place, I like J Alexanders.

Nuggets are not tenders.  Having said that, I vote Chick Fid  A nuggets, and I am not above McDonald's nuggets (the classics never go out of style).

My son is a tend/nugg aficionado. He rates chick fil a nuggs #1. He ranks mrs. Dave’s cornflake tends #1. Also he is a chicken tikka (mild) aficionado. All the white chicken items with no bones really.

It's a tender thread, but I am a realistic guy.  We aren't going to be able to eliminate nugget talk (as much as we'd like to). So, I went with the preemptive nugget shot.  Judgement call.  Not sure I would do it again.

My son (11) has nearly the exact same tastes as your son.  Remarkable.  I mean, down to the cornflakes tends.

wish canes had a little more "crunch" to them, and would i be out of line for requesting some spicy tenders?  spicy tendies are a sleeping giant, but no one seems to want to address this demographic of tendie fans.

Popeye's spicy strips are the best tenders.

The first time I tried McDonald's tenders I was like, "Oh, good. This will totally be an option for me to get when my kids insist on McDonald's." The second time was, "Okay, I'm done with these now."

I can’t speak to the final selection (there’s always a better local option anyway for sit down restaurants) but otherwise this is a very good list.

FTR - Cane’s tends probably aren’t even in my top 5 on their own, but the tends/sauce/Texas toast combo at Canes cannot be beat. Truly a symphony of flavor.

McCoy's (RIP) had elite-level tenders.  Everything else is just okay.

Yeah I had this same question. Raisin Canes calls them chicken fingers but they have been referred to as everything but fingers so far ITT.  As a side note I always get hot sauce at Raisin Canes and it’s amazing.

A place off of Swift in NKC has just recently caught my attention with its strip game.  Christine's firehouse

You have to ask for it.  It’s also just that Louisiana hot sauce that is everywhere but when combined with Raisin Canes fingers it’s amazing.
