Not a big photography buff, but I do have a Parrot Bebob 2 video drone. I bought it to take aerial shots of our property to keep my Grandparents up to speed on all of our projects. They can't make the 20+ hr drive from KS to NC any more so this is a good substitute. The new model has 4K video and is built like the DJI Mavic (also cheaper last I checked)

I have a drone and am trying to be more photography dorky with it.  Here's a drotograph (that's what I call a drone photograph) of historic downtown St Joe MO from earlier this summer.

Also lately I've been trying to make drone timelapses.  Here's one of the MO River just north of historic downtown St Joe MO overlooking the Remington Nature Center.  I've posted it in GIF form for your viewing pleasure.

And while I'm photo dorking, here's a milky way photo I shot on Friday outside of a little town called Highland KS.

Sweet.  I have a Phantom 3 Pro but I'd like to upgrade to a Mavic II within a year or so.

It's super fun to just go out and fly but want to get better at actually doing some video stuff. My videos now look like I'm having a seizure.

Like they’re shaky?  Mavic air video should very smooth with minimal effort. Unless you are jerking the controls around. You want to barely touch the controls when you are panning, changing direction, etc. also check out autonomous flight modes like “point of interest” “waypoints” “follow me” etc. The drone will basically fly itself based on how you set it up. That will take your shaky seizure hands out of the equation.

Lastly, if you want good looking drone video, it’s all about time of day. Within an hour or 2 of sunrise and sunset. A lot of dynamic range during these times which, with a little editing in post, can make your drone footage look amazing with bright brights and dark darks. Flying in bright sun or solid gray clouds in the middle of the day will never produce a great image no matter your flying expertise.

Also lastly, if you want really great images/video you’ll need some way to edit/color correct them. I use Adobe Lightroom for photos and adobe premiere pro or after effects for video. There are a lot of cheap (maybe some free?) options out there for editing/color correction.

Thanks! Yeah it's all from me jerking the controls at this point die to being new at the whole thing.

The AI flight modes are awesome.

Recently upgraded to the Mavic Air 2.  I really like it.  This is my first panorama I've done with it.

What did you have before the Mavic Air 2?  Mavic Air 1?
