I don't think Elon has ever measured success on Twitter as being anything that would provide a return in the short term.  I believe that he definitely wants it to be profitable, just so he doesn't continue to lose money, but the value of Twitter to him is the influence for the next 30 years or whatever he has left on earth.

This is what I legitimately love the most about twitter now. Since he mumped up the algos to make black twitter not as much of a thing, it's really kind of a crap place these days.

So, yes, we went from Taibbi praising Elon Musk for supporting free speech and supposedly helping to expose the evil shadowbanning of the old regime, and refusing to criticize Musk on anything, to Taibbi leaving Twitter, and Musk not just unfollowing him but shadowbanning him and all his Twitter Files.

In about 48 hours.

What is 'shadowbanning'?

One way is when you go to search for someone’s name to follow them, they don’t show up so you can’t get new followers. Another is making it so their tweets never show up in the algo. I’m not on Twitter any more for several reasons, mostly unrelated to Musk but I was on there a bit after musk took over and it seemed a worse user experience generally. Just completely wild to see him burn this much money for absolutely no reason.

The demands for censorship from entities like Adam Schiff and the meltdowns by #bluanon political and thought leaders have been well documented on this blog.  In particular the cry baby tantrums and hissy fits in committee hearings by #blueanon political leaders. Particularly after Musk acquired Twitter . . . when Algos started to matter
