Build quality of Tesla being not great at best. Competition from legacy companies coming on line. Elon being exposed as a carnival barker always over promising and under delivering with Tesla. Most of all, him using the company as a personal piggy bank for his idiotic Twitter play.

He just sold a shitload so that was possibly in preparation to cover it. Or he may have other cash to do so. Or, like you said, he may have to sell some asset he posted to secure the loan to cover it.

In November the banks who underwrote the loan were being offered 60 cents on the dollar for the debt. If that tells you anything.
